The Spiritual Status of a Nation

We know that people who don’t follow God, non-Christians, will not be saved:

“And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.” Deuteronomy 8:19

This applies to individuals and to nations also:

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalm 9:17

and:

“For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.” Isaiah 60:12

So, for a nation to flourish, the people (and therefore the nation of the people) must follow God:

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

and:

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34

So, look around at your nation and judge righteously. Do the people truly serve God? Does the nation truly serve God? If not, then your people and nation need to hear the gospel of Christ. For without that knowledge, they will be destroyed:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4:6
